The Pet Vet Nurse story is simple. I am a veterinary nurse that qualified from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Onderstepoort in 2003.
I grew up in a veterinary household with a love for animals from a very young age. I have worked in private practice in South Africa and England where I hosted puppy school courses, owner information evenings at my practice and did pet slimmer clinics to help pets lose weight. And now have been in the vet sales industry for over 16 years.
Over the years I have attended many congresses all over the world. I saw the difficulties pet parents faced when dealing with situations from emergencies to chronic disease conditions. All I wanted to do was help and make a difference. I have a passion for education and training and over the last two decades, I have been a speaker at numerous events from training veterinarians, veterinary nurses, reception staff, kennel hands and pet owners.
Being a pet owner myself I have been through the same difficulties as everyone else and that is why I am so passionate about empowering pet parents to handle any situation that may arise so that we can make sure our pets live happier and healthier lives.
For me, it is not just about extending the lifespan, but also enhancing the quality of life for all pets. I am the mom of two two-legged children and three four-legged kids (Noenie the dachshund, Stella the italian greyhound and Kietsie Konstabel our domestic shorthair cat).
Please note that I am a veterinary nurse – not a vet – I only host education events! For pet specific conditions I will always refer you back to your local veterinarian.
I work with veterinary practices all across South Africa to bring you up-to-date and quality information.
